Local Walks

Walberswick (5.5 miles) - This delightfully quaint village which can be seen on the opposite side of Southwold harbour. There are a small number of artisan shops, plus two pubs to be found. The riverside path can be quite muddy when there has been rain. There is a small ferry boat across the river, which you can take if your legs are not quite feeling up to it (takes 1.3 miles off the walk).

The Harbour (3.4 miles) - The harbour has a pub (The Harbour Inn) which is marked with the height of the floods which devastated the East Coast in 1953, wet and cooked fish outlets, a thriving boatyard with some very interesting craft, both old and new and a lifeboat station and museum which house the John Dory historical lifeboat, now fully restored. From the museum you can return to the town over the dunes (highly recommended) or along the road past the model boat lake.

Old Hall Cafe (4.6 miles) - A lovely calm and generally quite quiet walk. It can be a little muddy if it has been raining. You will have the opportunity to stop for refreshments (around half way) at The Old Hall Cafe.
